Match officials announced for PSL 10

The names of match officials for HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 have been announced; 13 umpires and 7 match referees will officiate in the event.

According to the details, Ahsan Raza, Paul Reiffel, and Kumar Dharmasena, who are part of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Elite Panel, will officiate in the HBL PSL, which will run from April 11 to May 18. Apart from them, Alex Waugh and Chris Brown will also be part of the umpires panel.

Aleem Dar, Asif Yaqoob, Faisal Khan Afridi, and Rashid Riaz Waqar will also officiate from Pakistan. All of them are part of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s international umpires. The PCB Elite Panel of Umpires Abdul Muqit, Nasir Hussain, Tariq Rashid, and Zulfiqar Jan will also officiate in this edition of the HBL PSL.

It should be noted that Aleem Dar will be performing umpiring duties in the HBL PSL for the last time.

On the other hand, ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees Ranjan Madugalle will oversee the matches along with his Sri Lankan colleague Roshan Mahanama. Other match referees include Ali Naqvi and Muhammad Javed Malik. Iftikhar Ahmed, Iqbal Sheikh, and Nadeem Arshad will also be officials in the tournament.

Earlier, Akbar Ali, a talented cricketer from the remote village of Askole in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) , has been selected to represent the Pakistan Under-19 team. This achievement is a milestone not just for Akbar, but also for his birthplace, as he becomes the first cricketer from the area to make his mark on both national and international cricket platforms.

Akbar, who hails from the picturesque yet challenging region, expressed immense joy upon hearing the news of his selection. He, along with his family, expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to serve Pakistan on the national team and are incredibly proud of his accomplishment.

Born in Askole, a village known for its scarcity of basic necessities and remote location, Akbar’s journey to professional cricket has been one of perseverance and determination. Despite the difficult circumstances, he overcame the odds to follow his passion for cricket, an accomplishment that has inspired many in his community. Akbar thanks the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for recognizing his talent and providing him the platform to showcase his skills on the national level.
