Punjab police character certificate fee for UAE visa – April 2025

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has made it mandatory for Pakistani nationals to submit a police character certificate when applying for visas, aiming to enhance security and prevent potential criminal activities.

Pakistani citizens planning to travel to Dubai or other emirates are now required to obtain a character certificate from the police department in their respective provinces. This requirement is not only applicable for UAE visas but also extends to other international travel, overseas employment, and immigration processes.

In a move to simplify the procedure, the Punjab Police has streamlined the character certificate issuance process, making it more efficient and user-friendly. Citizens can now apply for the certificate at any Punjab Police Khidmat Markaz (PKM) across the province, without needing to visit the district associated with their permanent address.

An official statement clarified, “For instance, if a resident of Multan requires a character certificate from Mianwali, where they previously resided, they can apply at PKM in Multan without traveling to Mianwali.”

Required Documents for Application:

• Original CNIC or B-Form and its photocopy
• Original and copy of the applicant’s passport
• A notarized affidavit
• Authority letter (if applicant is abroad), which must be attested by the relevant embassy or two credible individuals familiar with the applicant. The letter must specify the duration of the applicant’s stay.
• Photograph (in case a certificate is being obtained for a blood relative)

In situations where the applicant is outside Pakistan, a close blood relative (such as a parent or sibling) may submit the form with an authority letter.

Application Fee:

The application fee for a Police Character Certificate in Punjab is Rs. 500, payable at any Khidmat Markaz. The certificate is issued within three working days.
