What is included in the Prime Minister welfare package for overseas Pakistanis?

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has introduced a special welfare package for overseas Pakistanis to help solve their legal problems and offer new benefits in education, jobs, and investments.

Here’s what the package includes:

1. Special Courts

• A court has been set up in Islamabad just for overseas Pakistanis.
• More courts will be opened in other provinces to quickly handle their cases.

2. Online Legal Help

• Overseas Pakistanis can now give their testimony through video calls.
• Work is being done to allow legal documents to be filed online.

3. Education Quotas

• 5% seats reserved in all chartered universities.
• 5% seats in degree-awarding institutes in Islamabad.
• 15% quota in medical colleges for children of overseas Pakistanis.

4. Skills Training

• 5,000 skill development courses will be offered to overseas Pakistanis’ children.

5. Tax Relief

• Overseas Pakistanis will be treated as tax filers.
• This will reduce taxes on bank and business transactions.

6. Job Age Relaxation

• Men get 5 extra years to apply for government jobs.
• Women get 7 extra years.

7. Green Channel at Airports

• The Green Channel system at airports will be restarted for faster clearance.

8. Awards for Remittances

• High remittance senders will receive civil awards every year on August 14.
• Embassies and the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation will recommend names.

9. Investment Support

• PM promised to protect overseas investments.
• A committee led by Deputy PM Ishaq Dar will handle overseas concerns.

10. Digital Services

• Online property registration from Punjab will be tested in the UK first.
• It will later be expanded to other Pakistani embassies.

11. Overseas Convention

• A yearly convention for overseas Pakistanis will be held every April.

This package is meant to support and appreciate the efforts of Pakistanis living abroad and make their lives easier.
