Jam Sadiq Bridge to remain closed on two days – Check alternate routes

The Jam Sadiq Bridge — an important road link that connects Korangi Industrial Area to the rest of Karachi — will be completely closed for all kinds of traffic from midnight on April 19 to 3 PM on April 20, according to Karachi Traffic Police.

Why Is Closing the Jam Sadiq Bridge

This bridge is a key route used by thousands of people daily, including factory workers, office commuters, and transport vehicles traveling between Korangi, Akhtar Colony, Mehmoodabad, and other areas. So, even a short closure can cause major traffic problems in different parts of the city.

The closure is happening for development and repair work to improve the bridge’s condition.

Alternate Routes

To help ease traffic, police have shared some alternative routes:

• Traffic from Akhtar Colony to Korangi Industrial Area will be redirected to Brooks Chowrangi via SM Munir Road.

• Traffic from Korangi Industrial Area to Mehmoodabad will be diverted to Faiz Mohammad Khan Road via Brooks Chowrangi.

What Commuters Should Do

• Avoid the area if your trip is not necessary.

• Follow traffic updates shared by Karachi Traffic Police.

• Use the alternate routes to save time and avoid getting stuck.

The authorities say this repair work is part of a larger plan to improve Karachi’s roads and make daily travel safer and smoother in the long run.
