How to apply: Free EV Scooty Scheme for women in Sindh

How to apply Free EV Scooty Scheme
Karachi: The eligibility criteria and application procedure for applying for the free electric scooter scheme for women have been revealed by the Sindh government.
The aim of this initiative is to reduce the difficulties faced by women in the province and empower them.
To benefit from this scheme, the applicant must be a permanent citizen of Sindh and a student or employed woman.
The applicant must have a valid driving license, and if the scooter is won through a lottery, it will be mandatory not to sell it for 7 years.
The women, selected by lottery, will have to take a road safety skills test.
The distribution of EV Scooties will be done through a transparent draw in the presence of print and electronic media.
A committee will be formed to ensure the transparency of the draw, which will include representatives from the excise, transport, and finance departments and the media.
On the other hand, the Balochistan government is all set to launch the province’s first-ever Pink Bus Service in Quetta, dedicated exclusively to female passengers. As part of a broader initiative to enhance public transportation across Balochistan, 21 new buses—including four pink and several green buses—will soon hit the roads in Quetta and Turbat.
According to Provincial Transport Secretary Hayat Khan Kakar, the procurement process has been completed and tenders have been issued, with delivery expected to begin next month. Four pink buses will begin operations in Quetta, while four green buses will be deployed in Turbat, the central town of the Makran division.
Additionally, 12 new green buses will be added to Quetta’s public transport fleet to improve connectivity and expand service routes. These efforts aim to provide safer and more efficient transport options, especially for women and underserved communities.
Currently, eight green buses are operating between Sariab and IT University in Quetta. Future expansion plans include extending bus services to Kolchak and Dasht, making modern public transport more accessible throughout the province.
