Rwanda keen to partner with Pakistan in maritime development

Pakistan and Rwanda agreed to promote maritime trade. Rwanda’s foreign minister stressed the need to increase cooperation in Pakistan’s maritime development sector.

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar and Rwandan Foreign Minister Oliver JP held an important meeting in Islamabad to discuss promoting maritime trade and economic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, the federal minister apprised the Rwandan foreign minister of the importance of sea routes and gave a detailed briefing on the development of Pakistan’s ports and maritime sector. The two leaders discussed the possibility of establishing a shipping line between Pakistan and Rwanda.

The Rwandan Foreign Minister stressed the need to enhance cooperation in Pakistan’s maritime development sector and said that Rwanda is keen to establish a partnership with Pakistan to promote maritime trade.

Junaid Anwar said that Pakistan wants to strengthen cooperation in maritime trade with Rwanda, and strong economic relations between the two countries are the need of the hour. At the end of the meeting, the two leaders reiterated their commitment to further promote mutual relations in various fields.

Earlier, Emirati Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed visited the Foreign Office and met with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed arrived at the Foreign Office, where he was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

On this occasion, a signing ceremony of memorandums of understanding between Pakistan and the UAE was held, in which a memorandum of cultural cooperation was signed between the National Heritage and Culture Division and the Ministry of Culture of the UAE.

Along with this, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the foreign ministries on the establishment of a joint committee for consular affairs and a memorandum of cooperation for the establishment of a UAE-Pakistan Joint Business Council.

The memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the UAE Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

On this occasion, Ishaq Dar said, “I welcome the distinguished guest to my home. I hope your visit is successful. We are working together on many projects. There are brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE.”
