Major Update About Punjab School Summer Vacations 2025!

New school timings from August 18 in Punjab Schools
As April temperatures climb above seasonal norms, with the Met Office warning of a potential heatwave in the coming months, the Punjab government is actively reviewing plans for Punjab school summer vacation 2025.
The School Education Department has proposed starting the summer break from June 1, 2025, aligning with the annual academic calendar. However, with weather conditions worsening, officials have hinted that this date might be moved forward to protect students from the extreme heat.
Punjab Education Secretary Khalid Nazir Wattoo confirmed that while the department has submitted the usual vacation schedule, any surge in heat intensity could prompt a revised plan. He emphasized that the final decision rests with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who has been briefed on both the current forecasts and public concerns.
In an earlier move to address the rising temperatures, the Punjab government reduced school hours by 30 minutes starting April 7—a change that will remain in effect until mid-October. Under the updated schedule, schools now begin at 7:30 am, with staggered closing times depending on whether they operate single or double shifts.
Despite this adjustment, many parents are urging the government to announce the summer break earlier than usual. They fear the ongoing heat could affect children’s health, especially with reports suggesting that temperatures are likely to continue rising.
As of now, Punjab school summer vacation 2025 is tentatively set to begin on June 1, but officials have made it clear that student safety is a top priority, and any changes will be based on expert weather updates and real-time conditions.
