Sindh University delays exams over road safety concerns

22 April, 2025 19:49

The University of Sindh, Jamshoro, has officially postponed all semester examinations that were set to commence from Wednesday, April 23, 2025, due to deteriorating road and highway conditions across the region.

According to a circular issued by the Controller of Examinations (Semester), referenced as No. Exam/Sem/117 and dated April 21, 2025, the decision was made in light of growing safety concerns. The university cited the condition of roads as a significant barrier to safe travel for students, faculty, and examination staff.

In a statement, university officials confirmed that the step was taken as a precautionary measure after receiving multiple requests from concerned parents regarding the risks associated with commuting during the current situation. The administration emphasized that the well-being of all stakeholders remains a top priority.

The circular also stated that revised dates and an updated examination schedule will be announced once road conditions improve and travel safety can be assured. Students and affiliated colleges have been advised to monitor official University of Sindh communication channels for future updates.

This proactive approach by the University of Sindh reflects its commitment to maintaining a secure and conducive environment for academic assessments.
