Karachi rickshaw drivers protest, block roads over traffic fines

The rickshaw drivers has held a protest in support of the demands at Saddar Fawara Chowk in Karachi on Sunday. 

According to GTV news, the road leading to the Governor House has been closed to traffic due to a protest by rickshaw drivers in the Fawara Chowk area of ​​Karachi.

Due to the protest of rickshaw drivers, queues of vehicles formed on the Muhammad Ali Jinnah (MA) Road.

Citizens are facing difficulties due to the worst traffic jams at the Karachi Press Club, Shaheen Complex and surrounding highways.

As well as, the track leading to Abdullah Haroon Road and Shahrah-e-Faisal has also been closed by rickshaw drivers.

Rickshaw drivers claim that the traffic police are issuing challans of Rs. 5,000. The Karachi Commissioner has closed some roads for rickshaws, which has affected business.

In addition, the protesters say they will continue their protests until their demands are met.

On the other hand, defense minister Khawja Asif  says that the situation on the Line of Control (LoC) is tense, advising India to refrain from any adventure, and also saying that Pakistan is 200 percent ready to confront India.

He said that if India chooses aggression, we will give a befitting reply. Whenever India violates our airspace, the result is in front of us. We had just given Abhinandan tea and sent him back home.
