PTI letter on legal challenges
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder wrote a letter to the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Yahya Afridi, and the acting CJ on national issues. In the letter, the party founder raised other issues, including cases against him and party leaders, arrests, and meetings in jail.
Salman Akram Raja delivered the letter from the founder of PTI to the Chief Justice Chamber.
The letter mentions the cases against the PTI founder; the letter also refers to November 26 and the arrest of members of parliament while also detailing the obstacles to meeting the PTI founder.
The PTI founder has said in his letter that the nation needs to be reassured about democracy, all the facts have been put on record, only together can we heal the wounds, and all these facts demand action from you.
The letter written by the PTI founder to the judiciary is titled “State of the Constitution and Implementation of Law in Pakistan,” in which the PTI founder has cited more than 200 cases against him.
The text of the letter states that keeping me and Bushra Bibi in prison is an act of political revenge. He also mentions Shah Mehmood, Yasmin Rashid, Omar Sarfaraz Cheema, Mahmud-ur-Rashid, and Ijaz Chaudhry.
In the letter, the PTI founder says that he has only spoken to his sons on the phone twice in four months, has not been allowed to meet Bushra Bibi, is not given newspapers, and is kept in a small cell for several days.
The letter also states that due to the lack of a hearing on the PTI founder’s prison trial, there was no meeting with his family and lawyers. According to the list, lawyers are not allowed to meet with the PTI founder.
The PTI founder has also mentioned the February 8 elections in his letter to the Chief Justice. He has said that the constitutional bench has been given the authority to decide on the case of military courts and reserved seats.
