Dar briefs UK Foreign Secretary on regional situation

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has contacted British Foreign Secretary David Lammy, GTV news reported on Sunday.

The Foreign Minister has telephoned British Foreign Secretary David Lammy and briefed him on the current regional situation.

Ishaq Dar gave a detailed briefing on India’s false allegations, baseless propaganda, and unilateral actions.

He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to establishing peace and stability in the region and defending its national interests.

Dar also informed about Pakistan’s readiness for an independent and transparent investigation into the Pahalgam incident.

The British Foreign Secretary stressed the importance of reducing tensions through dialogue and peaceful resolution of issues.

During the contact, the two leaders agreed to maintain active communication in light of the changing situation.

On the other hand, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that where will India take the water; it can neither divert it nor stop it, GTV news reported on Sunday.

Speaking to the media, Asif said that I do not think that India will gain anything by violating the Indus Waters Treaty. This treaty has international guarantees.

He said that India has not yet responded to Pakistan’s offer of an impartial investigation.

Pakistan has appealed to the whole world to form an international commission. We are ready for an investigation so that the truth and lies come before the world.

The Defense Minister said that the Simla Agreement can be abrogated, but the Indus Waters Treaty has international guarantors. Narendra Modi and his extremist colleagues are saying such things to save their declining reputation.
