CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025: Opening Ceremony Date Announced

The long-awaited moment has arrived for students anticipating the distribution of laptops under the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025, as the date for the initiative’s official launch has been unveiled.

A grand ceremony has been scheduled for April 30, 2025, where Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is expected to grace the occasion. During the event, 7,000 laptops will be distributed among selected students from various educational institutions in the first phase.

In a move to ensure complete transparency in the process, the Higher Education Department has partnered with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for biometric verification of applicants. NADRA began offering biometric services at its e-Sahulat Centres from April 24, with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) covering the verification costs.

Educational institutions have been instructed to promptly complete the biometric verification of students who applied for the scheme. According to official data, a total of 93,441 applications have been submitted by students from public universities across Punjab.

The CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025 aims to distribute a total of 110,000 state-of-the-art laptops. The scheme covers eligible students enrolled in the 1st and 2nd semesters of BS programs at Public Sector Higher Education Department (HED) colleges, public universities, and medical and dental colleges. Students from private institutions are not eligible to apply.

The ambitious initiative is designed to promote educational advancement, enhance digital accessibility, foster skill development, and drive economic empowerment among the youth of Punjab.
