NYT calls General Asim Munir ‘Iron Man’ amid Indo-Pak tensions

The American newspaper The New York Times called Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir an iron man amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India. 

The American newspaper acknowledged the importance of the leadership role of Army Chief General Asim Munir in its article. The newspaper wrote, “At a time when pressure on India and tension in the region is increasing after the Pahalgam incident, General Asim Munir has formulated a clear position for Pakistan.”

The American newspaper said that a few days ago, in a speech while standing on a tank, Army Chief General Asim Munir bluntly said that no one should be in doubt that any Indian adventure will be responded to promptly, decisively, and befittingly.

The New York Times wrote, “The Army Chief’s address was a complete reiteration of the determination to respond to any Indian attack. At a time when the Pakistani nation was in political and economic difficulties, Army Chief General Asim Munir has united the entire nation.”

The Army Chief’s address and statements are being seen in India as a show of force on Pakistan’s part.
