Atta Tarar Says KP People Will Have Authority to Fight Terrorism

Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar has said that a positive change took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa yesterday, giving the people of the province the authority to fight terrorism.

Speaking at a seminar about Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Islamabad, Tarar said the people of the province want to completely eliminate terrorism. He said the recent development would help them fight terrorism and remove this threat permanently.

Tarar also warned the Afghan Taliban regime not to mistake Pakistan’s desire for peace as a sign of weakness. He said around 6,000 banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants and more than 20,000 militants in total are present on Afghan soil. He added that Pakistan wants to end militancy in Afghanistan.

The information minister said the government is determined to eliminate terrorism and make Pakistan a peaceful country. He said Pakistan has made great sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and suffered economic losses of more than $100 billion. He added that Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism have helped make the world safer.
