Pakistan Unveils Its First Long-Range Surveillance Radar AM3505

06 May, 2025 13:18

Pakistan has developed its first long-range ground surveillance radar, named the AM3505. The announcement was made on May 6, 2025. This is an important step for the country’s defense system. The radar can keep a close eye on Indian military activities across land and air.

The AM3505 was created with help from two major organizations — the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) and Blue Surge. This radar is made to detect and track targets from a long distance. It can monitor targets up to 350 kilometers away. It can also detect aircraft flying as high as 60,000 feet.

One of its biggest features is that it can tell the difference between friendly and enemy equipment. This includes tanks, artillery, and aircraft up to 450 kilometers away. It also uses special anti-jamming technology. This means it will continue working even if someone tries to block its signals.

The AM3505 radar works well in all types of weather. It performs in fog, rain, and even during storms. It is energy efficient and needs only 400 watts of power. It can be set up and made ready for use in just 30 minutes.

The radar is also easy to move. Its portable design allows the army to quickly place it in different locations as needed. This increases the defense strength of Pakistan, especially during times of tension.

This development comes at a time when tensions are rising between India and Pakistan. India has blamed Pakistan for the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. In response, Indian officials have issued strong threats.

The AM3505 radar shows the progress made by Pakistani engineers and scientists. It proves that the country is working hard to improve its defense systems.
