The Counting of votes for Senate by-elections have been completed and Syed Waqar Mehdi of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) won by getting 111 votes on Tuesday.Â
Nighat Mirza, the contender from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (Pakistan)’s has received 36 votes in the elections.
However, in the elections 2 votes were rejected due to incorrect marking.
Returning Officer and Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh  Ejaz Anwar Chauhan has announced the results.
Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Owais Qadir Shah congratulates Waqar Mehdi on being elected as a senator.
The speaker said that Waqar Mehdi’s success is a reflection of the democratic process and the people’s trust in the PPP.
Shah added that Waqar Mehdi is a senior leader of the party and a representative activist of public politics, who has always done politics with humility, principles and honesty.
Moreover, the PPP is a party that upholds the ideals and democratic values ​​of martyred leaders.
Additionally, the transparent conduct of the elections is a reflection of the professional performance of the Election Commission.
