Drone attack in Rawalpindi food street near cricket stadium

Indian Drone Strikes Shop in Rawalpindi After Multiple Drones Shot Down by Pakistan Army
Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated further as an Indian drone reportedly hit a shop on Rawalpindi Food Street, near the city’s cricket stadium, injuring one civilian. This incident comes after a series of drone attack attempts by India were intercepted by Pakistan’s defense systems.
According to national media reports, the drone strike took place shortly after midnight. Emergency services reached the scene quickly, and the injured civilian was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Before the Rawalpindi strike, residents in Walton and Burki Road areas of Lahore reported hearing explosions and gunfire late at night and into the early morning. These sounds created panic among locals. Witnesses described hearing loud blasts at irregular intervals, suggesting a possible security operation or attack in progress.
Sources suggest these events followed a significant airspace violation. In a press release, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that India sent 12 drones into Pakistani airspace. Pakistan’s air defense successfully shot down all 12 drones, according to ISPR.
The drones were reportedly spotted in Lahore, Gujranwala, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Chhor, Karachi, and Chakwal. The situation remains tense, with fears that further cross-border aggression may follow.
Authorities have increased security in sensitive areas and urged the public to stay alert but calm. No official response has yet been issued by Indian officials regarding the drone strikes or airspace violations.
The public and international observers are closely monitoring the developments as both nations appear to be on edge.
