Reports circulating online about a drone crashing near Faisal Mosque in Islamabad have been officially debunked. Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon has confirmed that no such incident occurred and urged the public not to fall for misinformation.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Memon clarified that both law enforcement and district officials responded promptly after the rumors began spreading. However, their investigation revealed no signs of a drone crash at the reported site.
“There is no drone crash in Islamabad,” Memon stated firmly, assuring residents that the capital remains secure. He called on the public to dismiss the false claims and refrain from sharing unverified reports.
This denial comes at a time of heightened public sensitivity, as Pakistan’s military recently downed 26 Israeli-made drones allegedly launched by India across different regions. The tense climate may have contributed to public anxiety and the rapid spread of misinformation.
Authorities continue to stress the importance of verifying facts before sharing news and have reminded citizens to remain calm and trust only official sources for updates on security matters.
