Pakistan shot down 25 Israeli-Made Harop Drones Used by India: ISPR
Pakistan has claimed to have shot down 25 Harop drones used by India for repeated violations of Pakistani airspace, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The Harop drone is an Israeli-made unmanned aerial vehicle with “kamikaze” capabilities, designed to destroy its target by crashing into it with explosive force.
Produced by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), the Harop drone is commonly used for both surveillance and precision strikes. These drones are capable of hovering over an area before identifying and striking targets, making them highly dangerous in conflict zones.
ISPR reported that Pakistan’s military jammed and intercepted these drones across several key cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Gujranwala, Chakwal, and Sheikhupura. This operation was carried out as part of intensified air defense and surveillance efforts in response to growing threats.
The Pakistani military has now raised its air defense alert level, citing the increased use of advanced drone technology in cross-border tensions. Officials have confirmed that the military remains on high alert along the country’s borders to defend against further drone incursions.
The use of Israeli-produced drones by India adds a new and dangerous layer to the already strained military situation between the two nations. Analysts warn that this development could worsen regional tensions and raise broader concerns about peace and stability in South Asia.
No official statement has been made yet by Indian authorities regarding the use or loss of these drones.
