Strong Earthquake Tremors Felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, and Nearby Areas
Tremors of an earthquake were felt in multiple cities across Pakistan, including Islamabad and Peshawar, causing widespread fear and panic, as reported by national media on Saturday.
The seismic activity affected areas such as Mardan, Swat, and surrounding regions, in addition to Islamabad and Peshawar.
Tremors were also experienced in Nowshera, Swabi, and North Waziristan, with people in Attock reporting similar shaking.
As a result of the quake, residents in various cities rushed outside their homes, reciting the Kalma Tayyaba. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported at this time.
Earlier, two earthquakes struck Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, jolting Swat and Buner on Sunday afternoon. The first, a 4.4-magnitude quake, hit Swat at 12:45 PM at a depth of 185 kilometers.
According to the Seismological Center in Islamabad, the epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush mountain range. About an hour later, at approximately 1:45 PM, a second earthquake hit Buner, around 100 kilometers from Swat.
