10 May, 2025 16:49

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday held a high-level meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari to update him on the recent regional security situation and Pakistan’s strong military response to Indian attacks, known as “Operations Bunyan un Marsoos.”

The meeting took place at the President’s House and was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar.

According to a statement from the President’s office, the Prime Minister shared full details of how Pakistan responded to the Indian missile and drone strikes, including the destruction of several Indian airbases and military targets.

President Asif Zardari praised the bravery and professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces, saying: “Pakistan has acted with utmost restraint in the face of Indian provocations, upholding its image as a responsible and peace-loving nation. Unfortunately, with India’s repeated violations, Pakistan had no choice left but to come down hard on its sovereignty and citizenry.”

He also stressed that the entire nation stands united with its military, firmly committed to defending the country.
“We will stand for our sovereignty and regional security under any circumstances,” the President added.

The meeting ended with agreement among the leaders to keep a strong but balanced response, while still leaving room for diplomatic solutions to reduce tensions.
