Prince Rahim Aga Khan offers to mediate between Pak-India tensions
Prince Rahim al-Hussaini Aga Khan, also known as the Aga Khan V, has stepped forward to offer help in resolving the rising conflict between Pakistan and India.
According to media reports, the Aga Khan has written letters to the Prime Ministers of both countries, expressing his concern over the growing tension. He has also shown interest in acting as a mediator to help reduce the current hostilities.
In his letter, he wrote, “I pray that the dispute be resolved peacefully so that further casualties be avoided.”
Reports also say that the Aga Khan sent a similar letter to the Secretary General of the United Nations, highlighting his worries about the Pakistan-India conflict.
This comes after India’s aggressive actions, which led to the deaths of innocent Pakistani civilians, including children. In response, the Pakistan Army launched “Operation Bunyan un Marsoos”, striking several Indian military sites early Saturday morning.
