PTI founder directs Junaid Akbar to resign from chairmanship of Public Accounts Committee

PTI founder Imran Khan has directed National Assembly member Junaid Akbar to resign from the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Sources indicate that Aleema Khan has conveyed Imran Khan’s message regarding the PAC chairmanship to the party leadership.

According to the sources, Imran Khan has instructed Junaid Akbar to leave the PAC chairmanship. Aleema Khan has passed on the PTI founder’s written order to party chairman Barrister Gohar and Secretary General Salman Akram Raja.

The sources further said that Imran Khan has directed Junaid Akbar to focus fully on the party position.

They indicated that Omar Ayub is likely to be appointed as the chairman of the PAC in place of Junaid Akbar. In this regard, Junaid Akbar stated that he will resign from the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee whenever the PTI founder, asks him to do so.

On the other hand, PTI’s Secretary General Salman Akram Raja mentioned that this is an internal party matter and currently does not wish to provide any stance on this issue.
