IHC allows Aleema Khan to travel abroad

13 May, 2025 22:13

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the removal of Aleema Khan’s name from the Passport Control List and PNIL.

The court directed Aleema Khan to approach the trial court for permission to travel abroad.

Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro delivered the verdict on Aleema Khan’s petition.

on the other hand, IHC has scheduled a hearing on a petition filed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, seeking the parole release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister.

The hearing is set to take place tomorrow, with Acting Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar presiding over the proceedings.

According to reports, the IHC Registrar’s Office raised several objections to the petition; however, the court has decided to proceed with the hearing.

CM Gandapur filed the petition citing the current national circumstances and political environment, emphasizing the need for temporary release of Founder PTI on parole.

This development comes at a time of heightened political tensions and calls for dialogue across party lines. The petition argues that Khan’s presence is vital for national unity and democratic engagement.
