In a monumental achievement, Pakistani mountaineer Sajid Sadpara has successfully summited Dhaulagiri—Earth’s seventh-highest peak at 8,167 meters—without the use of supplemental oxygen or porter assistance. The historic feat was accomplished on May 10, 2025, and marks Sajid’s ninth ascent of an 8,000-meter peak, all completed in pure Alpine style. The Alpine Club of Pakistan celebrated the milestone, calling it a “historic milestone,” as Sajid cements his place among global mountaineering legends.
“History has been made as 1st Pakistani to be on the top of Everest; Solo, without use of supplemental oxygen & personal sherpa assistance,” reads one of his most iconic tweets from his earlier Mount Everest climb, echoing across social media once again.
Born in the mountainous Skardu region, Sajid Sadpara is the son of the late mountaineer Muhammad Ali Sadpara, a national hero. Sajid’s climbing record includes major summits like Mount Everest, K2, Nanga Parbat, Annapurna, Broad Peak, Manaslu, Gasherbrum I, and II—all achieved without oxygen. His journey is fueled by passion, legacy, and an unbreakable spirit of endurance.
In July 2023, Sajid led a cleanup mission on K2, removing 200 kg of trash to honor his father. Despite climbing’s high risks, he remains active and in peak form, raising frequent questions like “Sajid Sadpara is alive or not”—to which the answer remains clear: he is alive, thriving, and pushing boundaries.
At just 29 years old, Sajid is not only a symbol of Pakistani pride but a rising legend in world mountaineering. He is reportedly working toward summiting all 14 eight-thousanders without oxygen, a rare achievement in Alpine history.
