What is Shuhada Package 2025? PM Unveils Compensation Program to Honor Martyrs of Marka-e-Haq

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the Shuhada Package 2025, a comprehensive support and compensation program to honor the martyrs of Marka-e-Haq (Operation Bunyanum Marsoos). The initiative aims to recognize the unmatched sacrifices made by Pakistan’s armed forces and civilians during the operation, offering long-term welfare and financial security to their families.

The announcement was made as part of the government’s plan to officially observe Youm-e-Marka-e-Haq every year on May 10, marking the historic success of the operation. Speaking on the occasion, PM Shehbaz Sharif reiterated the state’s commitment to its heroes, stating, “It is the government’s solemn duty to support the families of our martyrs and we will ensure every possible measure for their welfare.”

Key Features of the Shuhada Package 2025

• Rs 10 million compensation for each civilian martyr’s family

• Injured civilians to receive between Rs 1 million to Rs 2 million

• Armed forces martyrs’ families to receive between Rs 10 million and Rs 18 million, depending on rank

• Additional Rs 19 million to Rs 42 million for housing assistance to martyrs’ families

• Full salary and allowances to continue for families until the martyr’s retirement date

• Free education up to graduation for children of armed forces martyrs

• Rs 1 million marriage grant for one daughter of every armed forces martyr

• Injured armed personnel to receive between Rs 2 million and Rs 5 million

Government Support

The Prime Minister also confirmed that the federal government will cover 100% of the medical expenses for the injured and will undertake the reconstruction of houses and mosques destroyed during Indian attacks.

National Recognition & Commemoration

In addition to the Shuhada Package 2025, May 16 has been declared Youm-e-Tashakur, a national day of gratitude. Special prayers for peace and unity will be held across the country, particularly on the Friday that follows.

PM Shehbaz concluded, “Those who rendered invaluable services for the defense of Pakistan will be honored at the national level and awarded for their bravery.”
