Youm-e-Tashakur announced: Will there be public holiday on May 16?

Pakistan Stock Exchange to Remain Closed on May 28 for Youm-e-Takbeer
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared Friday, May 16, as Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Gratitude). This day will mark Pakistan’s successful response to Indian aggression and the achievements of Operation Bunyan-e-Marsous.
However, no public holiday has been announced for this occasion yet.

The Day of Gratitude will honor the bravery of the armed forces, the unity of the nation, and thank Allah Almighty for success.
The observance will begin early Friday with Quran recitation and special prayers after Fajr in mosques across the country.
In Islamabad, a 31-gun salute will take place. Other provinces will witness 21-gun salutes in their capitals. There will also be guard-changing ceremonies at the mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal.
Flag-hoisting events will be held in all provincial and federal capitals. Floral tributes will be laid at martyrs’ monuments, and special gatherings will be arranged to meet and honor the families of martyrs.
The main ceremony will be held at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad on Friday night. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be the chief guest. Senior military leaders, including the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and heads of the armed forces, will also attend.
Scholars, public figures, and people from different sectors will join the event, showing national pride and unity.
