Former PM hails Armed Forces’ bravery

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has lauded the armed forces of Pakistan for their unwavering courage, professionalism, and determination during the recent conflict with India. He praised the military’s successful defense of the nation, calling it a display of “great valiance and national resolve.”

Sharif made these remarks while meeting Senator Irfan Siddiqui, Parliamentary Leader in the Senate and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, at his Raiwind residence. The meeting focused on reviewing the parliamentary party’s response and the national atmosphere during the conflict.

Reflecting on the role of Parliament, Nawaz Sharif stated that lawmakers played a “robust and constructive role” during a crucial time for national unity. “The unity shown by elected representatives—setting aside political differences to stand firmly with our armed forces—was heartening and deeply symbolic of national solidarity,” he noted.

He emphasized that this political unity, combined with the prayers and faith of the Pakistani people, significantly boosted troop morale and contributed to the nation’s resilience. “With Allah’s help, Pakistan triumphed during a testing time,” Sharif remarked.

The former prime minister also acknowledged the Pakistani media’s responsible journalism during the crisis. He appreciated its role in delivering a truth-based narrative to the global audience, effectively countering enemy propaganda. “The patriotism and professionalism shown by our media played a vital role in shaping international perception,” he said.

During the meeting, both leaders stressed the PML-N’s ongoing commitment to national security and institutional harmony. Nawaz Sharif called for continued unity to confront external aggression and internal challenges alike.

The recent conflict, which escalated following the Pahalgam attack, has once again drawn attention to Pakistan’s defense capabilities and the critical importance of civil-military cohesion in safeguarding national interests.
