PM Shehbaz says world must acknowledge Pakistan’s sacrifices in war against terror
PM Shehbaz says Pakistan disproved India in recent war
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called on the global community to recognize Pakistan’s significant sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, emphasizing that the country has paid a heavy price in terms of both human lives and economic losses.
“Pakistan stands as the largest victim of terrorism. We have lost approximately 90,000 lives and incurred economic losses surpassing $150 billion,” the Prime Minister stated during a ceremony marking Youm-e-Tashakur.
He highlighted that Pakistan’s efforts were not just focused on restoring peace within its own borders but were aimed at global security. “Had our courageous armed forces not confronted these terrorists, they would have been spreading unchecked across various parts of the world,” he said.
The Prime Minister further urged the international community to recognize and honor the sacrifices and suffering Pakistan has endured in the battle against extremism. “The world must acknowledge the hardships we have faced,” he stressed.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, also thanked Allah for the success in the Marka-i-Haq (battle of truth). He paid tribute to the martyrs and saluted the bravery of the armed forces.
He recalled the events of May 6 and 7, when Indian forces launched attacks resulting in the death of innocent civilians. Pakistan was forced to respond — and did so with precision and strength.
