India requested ceasefire after facing Pakistan’s strong response: DG ISPR
DG ISPR ceasefire response
Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif says that the enemy fired more missiles on the night of May 9 and 10 to scare us, but India forgot that the nation of Pakistan and its forces never bow down and cannot be bowed down.
Speaking exclusively to RT Arabia, DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif said that to understand the Indo-Pak tensions, it is important to go into the background. India is sponsoring terrorism in the region, especially in Pakistan, and India is hiding behind false narratives to hide the truth.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that the Pakistani government has taken a clear stand that if there is any evidence, it should be given to an impartial body; we are ready to cooperate. India rejected this logical offer and took unilateral action, firing missiles at our mosques, martyring children, women, and the elderly.
The DG ISPR said that India is the main sponsor of terrorism in Pakistan, be it the Khawarij or the terrorist groups operating in Balochistan. The sacred responsibility entrusted to the Pakistan Armed Forces is the protection of the country’s sovereignty and borders. We have fulfilled this responsibility and will do so at all costs.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that Pakistan, acting with a very mature approach, gave a prompt, strong, and effective response, which forced the enemy to face reality. On the night of May 6 and 7, India attacked and fired missiles, after which our Air Force shot down 5 of their aircraft. The nation and the armed forces of Pakistan stood like a leaden wall.
He said that the enemy launched more missiles on the night of May 9 and 10 to intimidate us, and on the morning of May 10, we responded, with great responsibility and caution, targeting only their military targets while not damaging a single civilian target. This was an appropriate, fair, and balanced response.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif said that the Indian Defense Ministry spokesperson himself came and requested a ceasefire. We want peace and stability, so we said, Why not? Our diplomatic corps did a great job, engaging the international community with great understanding and insight in an extraordinary way.
The DG ISPR said that we are not a violent nation but a serious nation, and our first priority is peace. Big and wise powers like the US understand better what the passion of the people of Pakistan is.
