Gas supply will remain suspended for seven hours in various parts of Quetta on May 19, 2025, due to ongoing maintenance work, officials confirmed.
According to Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC), the suspension will last from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, affecting several key areas in the city.
Areas to face the temporary disruption include Saryab Road, Jail Road, Qumbrani Road, Sabzal Road, Liaquat Bazar, Gawalmandi, Double Road, and nearby locations.
In its official notice, the company stated the interruption is necessary “due to repairing of pipelines.”
Meanwhile, the city is already operating under a revised summer gas supply schedule. Last month, the SSGC issued a new schedule for Quetta under the National Gas Load Management Plan, aiming to improve efficiency and fairness in distribution.
As per the current plan, gas is available from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm daily, while it remains suspended from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am.
“This profiling will ensure equitable distribution and effective management of this natural resource and will help in maintaining a stable and sustainable gas supply for all consumers in Quetta,” the company had earlier said.
SSGC has advised residents to use gas responsibly and avoid unnecessary wastage during the summer period.
