Pakistan Wants Peace but Won’t Accept Indian Dominance: DG ISPR

Pakistan won’t bow to Indian hegemony: DG ISPR
Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has stated that while Pakistan desires peace, it will not tolerate Indian dominance.
In an interview with Anadolu Agency, Lt. Gen. Chaudhry said, “India is not the United States, and Pakistan is not Afghanistan. India is not Israel, and Pakistan is not Palestine.” He was highlighting the differences in the regional situations and rejecting comparisons often made by others.
DG ISPR strongly denied Indian claims linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam incident and said that India has failed to provide any solid proof. He accused India of using such events as excuses to support and spread terrorism.
Talking about recent tensions at the border, the DG ISPR said that Pakistan had shot down five Indian fighter jets, including three Rafales, in an incident known worldwide, even though India refuses to admit it.
He said that Pakistan is currently the country most affected by terrorism. Since January 2024, there have been over 3,700 terrorist attacks, resulting in 3,896 deaths, including 1,314 security personnel. More than 2,500 people have lost limbs, and many others have died.
DG ISPR blamed India for backing this wave of terrorism, especially through its support of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). He mentioned that the BLA, which claimed responsibility for the attack on the Jaffer Express, had asked for military help from India. He also pointed out that some Indian leaders, politicians, and retired army officers have openly supported the BLA.
On the issue of Kashmir, he said it is a recognized international dispute, and the unrest in the region is due to Indian oppression. “The situation in Kashmir and inside India is the result of internal repression,” he added.
He accused India of trying to label the Kashmir issue as an internal matter through pressure and force, without making any sincere efforts for peace. He warned, “We are a peace-loving nation, but if India provokes or attacks us, we will respond quickly and strongly.”
