COAS PM vow action
In a tragic incident on May 21, 2025, a suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan, killing at least six people, including four children, and injuring 38 others. The bus was transporting students from the Army Public School.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Minister of Defence, Minister of Interior, Minister of Information, and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, visited Quetta to meet with the injured and assess the situation. The Prime Minister condemned the attack in the strongest terms, describing it as a cowardly act of terrorism.
“This heinous act, targeting innocent children, is a clear violation of human rights and international law,” said Prime Minister Sharif. “We hold Indian-backed terrorists responsible for this atrocity and will ensure they are brought to justice.”
The Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, echoed the Prime Minister’s sentiments, emphasizing the need for national unity in combating terrorism. “We must stand together to eliminate the scourge of terrorism from our soil,” he stated.
The international community has also condemned the attack. The United Nations and various human rights organizations have called for accountability and support for the victims and their families.
In response to the attack, the government has pledged to enhance security measures in Balochistan and other vulnerable regions, ensuring the safety of civilians and educational institutions.
The Prime Minister concluded, “This attack will not deter our resolve. We will continue to fight against terrorism with full force and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.”
The investigation into the attack is ongoing, with authorities working to identify the perpetrators and their affiliations.
