Islamabad to get first-ever theme park, Ferris wheel, and cable car
The federal capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, will soon have its first theme park, along with a giant Ferris wheel and cable car service. These exciting projects were approved on Monday during a high-level meeting of the Departmental Working Party (DWP).
The meeting was chaired by Interior Secretary Mohammad Khurram Agha. CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa and other top officials were also present.
Theme Park for Families and Tourists
The theme park will be designed for both locals and tourists. It will include:
-
Walking tracks
-
Cycling paths
-
Green spaces
-
Eco-friendly buildings
The aim is to give people a clean, healthy, and fun place to spend time. It is part of a larger plan to promote tourism and recreation in the city.
How Much Will It Cost?
The government has approved money to carry out feasibility studies and detailed design work for all three projects:
-
Theme park: Rs206 million
-
Ferris wheel: Rs61.8 million
-
Cable car: Rs197.76 million
These amounts will be used to prepare the ground for construction in the coming months.
Why Are These Projects Important?
Islamabad has more than two million residents now. Families and young people often look for good outdoor activities. Officials say the demand for quality recreational spaces is increasing fast.
Since Islamabad is already a tourist-friendly city, these projects are expected to bring even more visitors from inside Pakistan and abroad.
What’s Next?
Once the designs and studies are done, the actual building work will begin. People can expect more parks, rides, and fun in the near future.
This is a big step to make Islamabad a modern city with international-level facilities.
