Pakistan, India Have Returned to Position of Peace: PM Shahbaz Sharif
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced that Pakistan and India have returned to a position of peace.
In a recent discussion with senior journalists, the prime minister addressed several important matters related to Pakistan’s security and foreign relations, particularly with India.
He revealed that the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMO) of both countries have successfully reached an agreement, marking a significant step toward de-escalation.
In addition to the agreement between military officials, Prime Minister Sharif also shed light on the involvement of Israel in the ongoing conflict. He claimed that Israel’s weapons and military advisors have been providing full assistance to India. According to the Prime Minister, Israel offered substantial support to India during the war, and there is solid evidence of Israeli weapons being used in places like Srinagar and other locations.
Shifting focus to Pakistan’s military leadership, the Prime Minister emphasized that the decision to elevate General Asim Munir to the position of Field Marshal was entirely the government’s decision, not that of the military. He also clarified that the decision involved consultation with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Looking ahead, the Prime Minister discussed the upcoming talks between Pakistan and India. He confirmed that the security advisors of both nations are set to meet in a neutral location. Pakistan’s side will present four key points for discussion: Kashmir, water rights, trade, and terrorism. These issues are expected to be at the forefront of the dialogue between the two nations.
Finally, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif pointed to the role of Indian intelligence agencies in supporting the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). According to the Prime Minister, these agencies are behind the BLA’s activities, further complicating the regional security landscape.
The Prime Minister’s remarks set the stage for crucial negotiations with India, while also highlighting the complex web of international relations influencing the region’s stability.
