PTI Founder declines polygraph test for the third consecutive time
Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has refused to undergo a polygraph test for the third time, according to sources linked to the ongoing investigation into the May 9 incidents.
A special investigation team from Lahore Police, led by DSP Asif Javed, visited Adiala Jail to conduct the lie detector test. The purpose of the test was to collect more evidence and gain clarity on Khan’s alleged involvement in the unrest that took place on May 9.
Despite prior coordination and preparations, Khan declined to participate in the test. As a result, the investigation team was forced to return without proceeding with the procedure.
Over the past three days, the Lahore Police has been trying to carry out various forensic methods, including photogrammetric analysis, voice matching, and polygraph testing. These techniques are seen as important for verifying the accusations made against Imran Khan and for building a stronger case.
While his refusal may slow down parts of the investigation, it is important to note that polygraph tests are voluntary, unless a court orders them to be mandatory. At this time, no such legal order has been issued against the former premier.
Imran Khan’s legal team has not issued an official statement regarding the latest refusal. However, the development has added another layer of tension in the high-profile case, which continues to draw public and media attention nationwide.
