NAB recovers and disburses over Rs88 billion in 2025
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) successfully recovered and disbursed over Rs88 billion during the first quarter of 2025. According to a press release, these recoveries consisted of direct recoveries exceeding Rs2 billion and indirect recoveries totaling Rs86 billion.
The recovered amounts involved public and private lands linked to cases of illegal transfer and unlawful occupation. “The disbursed amounts were returned to the relevant affected entities.”
Regarding indirect recoveries, NAB (Balochistan) reclaimed state land measuring 340 acres of Chiltan Park and 250 acres from the Forest Department, valuing approximately Rs6.45 billion.
NAB Lahore recovered Rs70.87 billion in three major cases, including the Employees Cooperative Housing Society, State Life Insurance Employees Cooperative Housing Society, and Sarwar Omega Villas.
NAB (Multan) retrieved Rs0.013 billion from the GFS 7 Wonders Housing Scheme, while NAB (Sukkur) recovered 610 acres of NHA land worth Rs8.53 billion.
For direct recoveries, NAB transferred Rs9.72 million to the Federal Government, Rs10.80 million to provincial governments, and Rs73.51 million to various departments and financial institutions.
“A significant portion amounting to 1990.771 million rupees has also been directly distributed to over nineteen thousand victims of various scams.”
These recoveries were achieved through plea bargains, voluntary returns, and settlements by individuals and entities.
