PM Shehbaz says, 'India can’t stop Pakistan’s water'
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has firmly rejected India’s threat to stop Pakistan’s water supply. He called the threat unacceptable and said that water is the lifeline of Pakistan.
“India will never be able to stop our water,” PM Shehbaz said while speaking at the Pakistan-Turkiye-Azerbaijan trilateral summit in Lachin. He congratulated Azerbaijan on its Independence Day and praised the country’s journey towards freedom.
The Prime Minister highlighted the deep historic and cultural ties between Pakistan, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan. He said the summit reflects their shared goal of stronger friendship and cooperation. He also praised “Turkish President Erdogan” for his strong actions against the PKK.
Talking about recent tensions with India, PM Shehbaz criticised New Delhi for blaming Pakistan for the Pahalgam incident without any proof. He said that Pakistan had offered a fair investigation, but India refused.
“Using Pahalgam as a pretext, India resorted to aggression,” he added. He praised Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and the Pakistan armed forces for their strong and professional response, which was supported by the whole nation.
PM Shehbaz also condemned India’s violations of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), stressing that the water is crucial for 240 million people in Pakistan. “Blocking it is not an option India can ever succeed in,” he said.
He repeated Pakistan’s call for solving the Kashmir issue based on UN resolutions. He also reminded the world that Pakistan has suffered the most from terrorism, losing over 90,000 lives in the fight against it.
PM Shehbaz ended his speech by saying, “Our three nations stand united for peace, justice, and high moral values.”
