Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, while addressing the ceremony, praised China’s vision. Ishaq Dar said that Pakistan firmly believes in the peaceful resolution of global conflicts.

Ishaq Dar said that a solution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is inevitable, and Pakistan will continue to highlight its position at the global level.

According to a foreign news agency, China wants to make the International Arbitration Organization an institution comparable to the United Nations’ International Court of Justice.

The move aims to strengthen Hong Kong’s international reputation and elevate it as a center for global dispute resolution.

Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee says the new arbitration body will have the same status as the International Court of Justice and the UN Arbitration Court in The Hague.

He said the move would help make Hong Kong a credible center for international dispute resolution.

In addition to China and Pakistan, several countries including Indonesia, Pakistan, Laos, Cambodia, and Serbia participated in the signing ceremony of the convention, while according to the Hong Kong State Broadcasting Corporation, representatives of more than 20 international organizations, including the United Nations, also attended the ceremony.

The new organization will be headquartered in a former police station in Hong Kong’s busy Wan Chai area and is expected to officially open later this year or early 2026.
