PM approves Eid-ul-Adha holidays

Eid-ul-Adha holidays
Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has approved Eid-ul-Adha holidays on Friday, GTV News reported.
The GTV news sources said that the Eid-ul-Adha holidays will be from Friday, June 6 to Monday, June 9.
It should be noted that Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated in Pakistan on Saturday, June 7.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Tuesday that the moon of ZilHaj 1446 AH was not sighted anywhere in Pakistan. Eid-ul-Adha 2025 will be observed on Saturday, June 7, across the country.
Earlier, the main meeting to sight the moon was held in Islamabad, led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad. Members of both central and zonal moon-sighting committees, along with experts from Suparco, the Meteorological Department, and other officials, attended the session.
Experts had already shared that chances of seeing the moon were very low, as it was just 11 hours old at sunset—making it nearly impossible to spot.
In Lahore, the zonal committee met at Auqaf House, headed by Mufti Muhammad Ramzan Sialvi. He confirmed that no reliable reports of moon sighting were received during the official time, which ended at 7:43 PM in Lahore and 7:49 PM in other parts of Punjab.
