Pakistan Railways earns record Rs 83 billion in 11 months
Pakistan Railways has earned a total of Rs 83 billion in the last 11 months, officials said. This is over Rs 6 billion more than the same time last year.
Most of the money came from passenger trains, which made Rs 42 billion. Freight trains added Rs 29 billion, while other sources brought in Rs 12 billion.
The Karachi Division earned the most, with Rs 13 billion from passenger trains and Rs 25 billion from freight trains. Lahore Division came second, earning Rs 10 billion from passengers and Rs 0.75 billion from freight. The Rawalpindi and Multan Divisions each made about Rs 4 billion from passengers.
Last year, Pakistan Railways earned about Rs 77 billion during the same period, so this year shows a good increase.
To help people travel during Eid-ul-Adha, the Ministry of Railways announced five special trains. Some will use new coaches, while others will run on existing Eid special trains. The goal is to make travel safer and easier during the holiday.
Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi also announced plans to improve railway stations, making them more modern and user-friendly for passengers.
