TikToker Sana Yousuf shot dead in Islamabad

Islamabad: Social media influencer Sana Yousuf, a TikToker originally from Upper Chitral, was shot dead on Monday in the G-13/1 area of the capital.

According to police reports, unknown attackers entered her house in the Sumbal police precincts and opened fire. Sana died on the spot, and the attackers fled the scene before law enforcement could arrive.

The police responded quickly, took the body into custody, and moved it to a hospital for postmortem examination.

This incident has raised concerns about the safety of social media content creators in Pakistan. Earlier this year, a man in Quetta admitted to killing his own daughter, Hira, over her TikTok activity. He claimed the content she posted online was “objectionable.”

Authorities are investigating all possible motives, including the possibility of an honour-based killing, which remains a worrying issue in some parts of the country.

The shocking murder of Sana Yousuf has sparked outrage on social media, with many demanding swift justice and better protection for digital creators.
