Double-decker Bus service to begin in Karachi – Check Fare, Date & More Details

Sindh Transport and Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced the launch of double-decker buses in Karachi starting next month, as part of the provincial government’s efforts to modernize public transport in the city.

Speaking to the media, the minister said the government is working hard to improve travel options for commuters across the city. This announcement follows the successful rollout of the Peoples Bus Service and the Pink Bus Service, both of which have been welcomed by the public.

In a significant move for women’s safety and mobility, Sharjeel Memon also revealed that a Pink Taxi service exclusively for women will be introduced soon. This new initiative aims to offer secure and reliable transport options for female passengers.

The expansion plans don’t stop there. The Sindh government is set to receive:

• 5 new double-decker buses

• 34 electric buses by June

• 100 more buses by the end of the month

These new additions are expected to reduce overcrowding and provide a more comfortable commute for the people of Karachi.

The inclusion of electric buses highlights the government’s push for environment-friendly public transport solutions. “We are not just expanding the fleet, but also focusing on sustainability and accessibility for all,” the minister said.
