Naegleria claims 23-year-old life in Karachi

The Sindh Health Department (SHD) has claimed that a 23-year-old died of Naegleria in Karachi, GTV News reported on Wednesday.

The SHD spokesperson said that the deceased youth belonged to Orangi Town and died in a private hospital on June 3.

Moreover, the Sindh Health Department spokesperson added that the patient’s symptoms appeared on May 28.

Furthermore, the spokesperson stated that the young man was admitted to the hospital on May 30 as Naegleria was confirmed on June 1.

As per records from SHD, the patient did not participate in any pond activities.

In addition, it has been revealed that the patient regularly used water for ablution in the mosque.
