Punjab launches e-Cattle Market App, Web Portal
LAHORE – As Eid-ul-Azha approaches, residents across Punjab can now buy and sell sacrificial animals online through the newly launched e-Cattle Market App and Web Portal.
This digital service has been developed by the Punjab Cattle Market Management and Development Company (PCMMDC) in partnership with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). The initiative aims to make livestock buying easier, safer, and more convenient—especially during the busy pre-Eid season.
Buy Qurbani Animals from Home
The e-Cattle Market system allows citizens to register on the app or web portal and browse a wide range of animals, all listed by verified livestock dealers. Each animal profile comes with:
Photos and videos
Weight
Price
Health details
This helps buyers make informed choices without visiting crowded markets.
Traceability, Health Checks, and Transparency
In addition to simplifying the buying process, the platform also supports animal traceability, health monitoring, and operational efficiency for dealers. These features ensure that both buyers and sellers can trust the process.
The initiative aligns with the Punjab Government’s vision to use technology for improving the livestock sector and ensuring safer public practices during major festivals.
A Step Toward Smart Livestock Trade
PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf said, “With the e-Cattle Market System, citizens can now avoid crowded cattle markets and purchase animals online with ease. This step not only reduces traffic congestion but also saves time and fuel.”
The platform also aims to help reduce the risk of infections, especially in hot weather conditions where animal markets can become unhygienic.
Citizens can access the e-Cattle Market via the official app or website, making it easier than ever to complete Qurbani obligations from home.
