Sindh Govt Approves Strict New Traffic Rules 2025 with Fines Up to Rs300,000

06 June, 2025 12:46

The Sindh government is taking serious steps to stop traffic violations in Karachi. On June 6, 2025, a cabinet sub-committee approved new traffic laws. These are the strictest rules ever made in Sindh’s history. The final approval will be given by the full Sindh Cabinet soon.

The new rules include very high traffic fines. These fines may go up to Rs300,000 for serious offenses. One important rule is that people who do not pay their traffic fines may be banned from international travel.

The government also wants every vehicle, whether commercial or personal, to pass a fitness test. They have also decided to ban all four- and six-seater rickshaws across the province.

New Traffic Fines in Sindh

Wrong-way driving will have very heavy fines:

  • Motorcycles: Rs25,000

  • Cars and other four-wheelers: Rs100,000

  • Government vehicles: Up to Rs200,000

Commercial vehicles must also follow new safety rules. All freight vehicles must have at least five cameras. Water tankers and dumpers must install GPS trackers and sensors.

Driving without a license will now be costly:

  • Motorcyclists: Rs25,000

  • Car drivers: Rs50,000

Items like tinted windows, fancy lights, and hooter horns will be completely banned. This ban applies to both online and offline markets.

The government is improving its traffic system. E-challans will be sent to the vehicle owner’s home address. Also, the traffic, transport, and excise departments will work together using a connected system.

To handle the new rules, special magistrates will be appointed. They will deal with all traffic law cases. Dangerous acts like one-wheeling and car drifting will also be punished. These acts will have a Rs100,000 fine for the first offense.

The government says these changes are important to keep roads safe for everyone.
