Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the salary increase for the Chairman Senate and Speaker of the National Assembly.

According to sources, Prime Minister has taken notice of the salary hike for the Chairman Senate, Deputy Chairman Senate, Speaker, and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.

Sources further stated that the Prime Minister has sought a report from the Speaker and Chairman Senate in this regard.

Based on the report, the PM will make a decision regarding the salary increases for the Speaker, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, and the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Senate.

It is worth noting that in the upcoming fiscal year’s budget, a 10% increase has been announced for government employees’ salaries and a 7% increase in pensions. This has led to strong criticism over the significant salary hike proposed for the Speaker and Chairman Senate.
