PTI Founder Postpones Protest Movement Amid Global Tensions

17 June, 2025 18:57

Founder Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI)’s sisters, Noreen Niazi and Uzma Khan, visited the jailed PTI founder at Adiala Jail and shared key updates on the party’s strategy going forward.

Speaking to the media outside the jail, Noreen Niazi revealed that founder PTI has decided to postpone the protest movement due to the current global situation. She emphasized that founder PTI believes this is a time for national unity.

The PTI had launched protests against the current government, calling for fair elections, founder PTI ’s release, and justice in ongoing legal cases. The movement also challenged what the party described as political victimization and electoral rigging.

Earlier, founder PTI ’s sister Aleema Khan had stated that founder PTI would lead the protest as Patron-in-Chief even from jail. She also mentioned he is being pressured to apologize for the events of May 9, a day marked by widespread unrest.

Uzma Khan, another of founder PTI ’s sisters, said that the world already knows founder PTI ’s clear stance on Israel. Her remarks reflect Pakistan’s traditional position of not recognizing Israel due to the unresolved Palestinian issue.

The statements highlight PTI’s ongoing efforts to maintain political momentum and reshape its strategy while its leader remains behind bars.
