Strengthening the Global Development Initiative (GDI) in Pakistan

Pakistan is set to launch a new program to bring the Global Development Initiative (GDI) into its national development plans. The initiative is led by China and supports the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Pakistan’s strong ties with China, especially through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), make it ready to adopt GDI.

The new program will focus on several key areas:

1. Engage Parliamentarians and Policymakers:
   Meetings will be held to include GDI in national development plans. The goal is to get political leaders to support GDI across different sectors.

2. Public Awareness Campaigns:
   Campaigns will make GDI a familiar name linked to innovation, inclusion, and growth. These will show how GDI supports Pakistan’s Vision 2025 and SDGs.

3. Youth and Academic Engagement:
   Universities will set up research centers focused on GDI. Students will organize awareness drives and focus groups. Schools will connect their courses to GDI goals.

4. Program Design and Resource Mobilization:
   A national program will be finalized with themes like climate resilience, digital innovation, financial literacy, and green businesses. Partnerships and funding will be secured for the program.

5. Integrate Global Security Dimensions:
   GDI will address causes of instability like poverty, resource scarcity, and climate change. It will promote regional peace and multilateral cooperation. The program will also support disaster response, climate migration issues, and cybersecurity in digital growth.

This program aims to make GDI an action-oriented platform in Pakistan’s policy, education, and youth sectors.
