Sweden Schengen Visa Requirements for Pakistanis - June 2025
Pakistani citizens planning a trip to Sweden in 2025 must meet certain financial and documentation requirements to apply for a short-term Schengen visa.
One of the major conditions is proving financial stability. Applicants need to submit a six-month bank statement and must demonstrate the ability to cover at least 80 euros per day during their stay. For a maximum stay of 90 days, this amounts to 7,200 euros or around Rs2.4 million, based on the current exchange rate of Rs328.4 per euro (as of June 19, 2025).
Since Sweden is not visa-exempt for Pakistani passport holders, travelers must apply in advance whether they’re visiting for tourism, business, or family purposes.
The Swedish Embassy in Islamabad handles Schengen visa applications for residents of Pakistan and Afghanistan. A complete application must include:
- A valid passport
- Completed visa form
- Recent passport-sized photos
- Travel insurance
- Hotel booking or accommodation proof
- Confirmed return flight booking
- Six-month bank statement showing sufficient funds
Visa processing time is generally 15 working days. If approved, applicants can stay up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
Travel experts advise applicants to ensure all required documents are in order to avoid delays or rejections. As more Pakistanis look toward Sweden as a destination, fulfilling all financial and procedural steps is essential for a smooth visa process.
